Hey all, for the past few months I’ve been learning how to tune my own car and it’s been great so far and no major issues. I have a background in tuning older Hondas, but this is very different, but I am enjoying learning.
Only problem I’m having is the car hits what I’m sure is a limp mode, but there’s no codes or lights, when pushing hard in 1st-2nd to maybe 5k rpm. Turning the car off and back on fixes it, but it just completely loses power and doesn’t go above 1k rpm.
I’m on BM3 and I’m thinking this is relating to the Torque settings and maybe I just turned off too many of the limiters or flags? If anyone has any insight on what it could be, anything honestly helps. I did start from scratch again keeping the torque settings stock but I’m having a problem pinpointing on what could cause this.

upload datazap log, torque limter and rf max channel might tell us something.

I say this with no disrespect whatsoever, but if you need help from the forums to tune the car, you probably should not be testing with your own car, its a very expensive “test kit.”

If I was in your situation, I would buy a custom map and learn from the datalogs to understand what changes were made, then try following a similar approach from there.

Can you go back to spam fucking the forums with your special promotions and not chime in?

did the limp mode happen in this log?
I think so
It seems to only be going in that limp mode when traction control is on, and again there’s no codes that show up when scanning.
It also does that limp mode when using the bm3 antilag/launch
VSC fully off doesn’t put that limp mode when pushing so I’m thinking there’s something I missed in the torque settings

did you try going back to stock tune to see if it happens again? there are couple of torque tables that causes limp mode, read bootmod3 tuning guide it has the information you need there.

you can max out all the torque limiters to 1000nm and 1000kw, and for load limiters 327 except the global load table, which is called Maximum Filling Relative Filling Characteristic in BM3.

limp mode might not show up as a DTC code, but it will show up in the datalog as RF max or torque limit flag

Looks like something funky was done with one of the throttle tables. Also looks like something is fudged with load/boost request. Tune needs work. Could be either or both.

Yes I went back to stock, OTS, and my tune with psi dialed down to a max psi of 26 (context running pure800 and e50) from I think 27/28psi, no limp, I wonder if the torque difference is really that big if that’s the cause.
I thought it was the boost causing it at first but my first gear is limited to 20 psi and I set torque by gear limits to 600nm-650nm, and torque limiters to 800nm I’ll see if raising it to the 1000 will help
I’ll be able test soon when I get my car back

on stock turbo and 25 psi my car makes around 800nm torque, so with pure800 i expect that you could exceed 1000nm, if you dont have any issues at 26psi but only if you exceed that, that narrows down the issue to boost ceiling or torque ceiling.

in BM3 tuning there is this bit that i think might be causing your issue.

• Torque Monitoring
These cars have several monitors to prevent tuning from happening. If these are not changed and the car makes more power than stock, it may go into limp mode. On some cars the table ‘Full Load Torque Characteristic (Monitoring) also must be increased. On this ROM, it’s set to 3276NM from factory.

Another interesting table is the following one, this is basically an anti-tuning table as well, this should be maxed out to prevent any codes that might appear due to quicker acceleration.
