My car is catless and even if I turn off sport mode before starting, it’s not quiet with start up roar. I live in a nice area of Chicago and my detached garage is right next to my rich neighbor’s bedroom in their huge, historic house on our quiet street. We don’t all live Down Under, Phil ?
Even more reason to have a loud car,

Phil

Same issue here. I'm custom tuned, there are no settings disable it completely. I wish I could, the car doesn't start nicely when you're running higher E content.

Yup. same issue, I like to go for drives early morning before my kids wake up and since getting a downpipe I might have to leave the car parked down the street so I don't wake everybody up when I leave... I thought this would be a pretty simple thing to do, no roar and no high idle when cold...

I've got a few neighbors with loud exhausts. Everyone is pretty cool if you're just starting the car and leaving. Not revving it just to make noise, etc. Even my wife and kids rarely notice when I take it to work. Might not be as bad as you think ;)

I hope you are right, I have to back in my Supra into the garage so I can open my door and park pretty close to the wall, we'll see how my kids handle it this weekend when I go out for my usual early morning cruise

What I love (and learned) about kids, they will get used to whatever you and your wife get use to. Especially if mom and dad are happy.

Funny side note I heard from a good friend long long ago. Used it ever since. When his kids would complain about something they don’t have, that the Jones’s do, he’d remind them they had unlimited food, shelter & love. Most of my kid‘s friend’s parents would get that priority equation reversed and let the kids run the roost ?. Loose sight on how the kids got there in the 1st place. Not that that is you. But it’s a slippery slope once you do.

I still think of to this day, despite paying extra for a theme park character dinner or you name it, what my kids remember most is riding in a golf cart to go get mom coffee every morning. Her appreciating it, telling me & the kids thanks for getting it. Just seeing mom and dad happy. I’m like, what about all that money I spent dammit!! ?

Yeah I don’t think my kid would be the one to complain my car is loud, but my wife on the other hand, when he is up way too early on a Saturday morning! ?

I hear you though, we definitely not that kind of parents to let kids do whatever they want, we prioritize them growing to be decent humans above all, and while our way may be different from everyone else (or not idk), I think it’s working out so far.

My youngest kid will talk your ear off about all the things he’s interested in and has learned about from his books, he really enjoys spending time talking with us over all the other things we think make a difference but really he probably would not notice if gone. Quality time is a big deal!

Edit: Also, I am happy to report sleep was not disturbed and I still got to enjoy my weekend morning rides, it’s all good!?
