This is where my head is at as well. A stiffer spring may be what’s needed to allow the BOV to operate correctly and not open at part throttle, but I’m considering just sending it back and going back to my old setup. On my M340i, fitment isn’t the greatest. Everything, including the electrical connectors, was a very tight fit, and I’m not able to connect that line that connects to the right side of the turbo inlet pipe.

(Not sure what exactly it’s for, I just know it’s already a pain in the ass, and with this charge pipe it was impossible to even reach the spot it connects to, let alone actually connect it. I’ve tried it with the stock one, CTS, and Dinan. Ended up snapping it off trying to connect it, so if anyone has the part number so I can order another one, that would be awesome.
That connects to the stock inlet which is not touched or moved, it gets installed on the turbo in the same place so I'm not understanding how you're having a fitment issue unless your turbo moved somehow.

Hmm maybe a question for the folks over at BMS, and see if they are also experiencing these issues.

if I were to run a stiffer spring , would it just be that the BOV won’t actuate unless the boost levels are higher ? If that was the case wouldn’t a spring that is 1 level stiffer suffice in fixing this issue? Or are they other downsides I am missing

You can run the next spring up if you'd like, it will just not blow off as much. In our testing we haven't seen any parasitic loss with this current setup. It has been running on our B58s for over 2 years now.

The charge pipe is significantly closer to the inlet pipe than my previous one, and does not allow you to connect the vent hose to the inlet. As previously stated, I’ve tried my stock inlet, my CTS inlet, and my Dinan inlet, all of which I am left with insufficient room, as the charge pipe is literally right up against the inlet pipe. With my CTS charge pipe installed, I do not have this issue.

Copy that. I’m scheduling my install for Saturday with a local guy who does work on Supras (and owns one himself). I’ll update the thread with sound clips and if I run into any issues. If my installer runs into issues or has comments I’ll share them here too.

Email us some pictures and I will compare it to our M340i in house.

Just installed the Orange spring which is the next step up from the current Pink spring. Lag that was happening when barely pressing on the throttle is now gone, but yes to @R8TTEDR 's point, definitely doesn't blow off as much (around 70% less). So at the moment, it's eliminate lag that only happens when initial peddle is pressed during low end RPM range, which usually happens for me around 1K-1.5K RPM, or don't let it bother you and you can hear the BOV sound off all the time ?.

I'm leaning towards don't let it bother me, because I don't mind the brief lag when throttle is barely pushed in favor of the BOV sounds.

When I asked the BMS support team if I could change it to a stiffer spring, they were telling me I shouldn’t because it was tested with their spring already included in there.

I wanted to try run a stiffer spring because I am not a fan of the ‘whoosh’ sound that it makes. Of course, I understand if I can achieve a flutter, it would ‘fuck up my turbo’.

I originally wanted to run Tial cause I have experience with them creating the sound I like but I heard it won’t fit either…

Maybe a custom tune would eliminate that initial lag without changing springs?

at the end of the day, if you install the stiffest spring so that it never opens, you're basically back at the stock configuration anyway...
You’re completely right, I was hoping that there would be a middle ground where at least it would open slightly and it would be and the sound be as loud as my previously configured cars

I received my email that mine are on the way too.

I'm not experiencing any issues with my install or performance. I am a MT and not sure if some of these issue are with the AT.
