Saw this Top Gear overview, and sounds cool. Haven't heard anything about it coming to us, but would be cool to get more CarPlay features integrated into the HUD, mainly Apple/Google maps

It will be for new cars, starting with Aston Martin.

Will there be aftermarket options for older cars? Who knows.

Been hawking this since Apple announced it many months back.
I doubt it will do much for our cars because the dash doesn’t really have any screen display real estate. We’ve got the huge hardware tach display that won’t ever change.
Maybe the area on the right that shows a small
map when using the built in navigation could be hijacked by CarPlay with an update, but in betting it’s gonna be a new car thing as far as the main benefit of it - the customized gauges and main driver dash area.
Though I’m guessing that the normal CarPlay / multimedia display will allow for some extra level of customizing.
wouldn’t expect to get boost and all the other nice canbus data pieces though. Prolly gotta stick with displaying whatever you get from the eNet or Bluetooth obd dongle
