Catless Downpipe with 3.5" Full Throughput

I have been looking tirelessly for a downpipe with a 3.5" outlet, it seems most just mate up to the OEM 3.15" exhaust and aren't created to make use of a full 3.5" aftermarket exhaust.

Has anyone found a full 3.5" throughput downpipe? Considering we pay good money for a full 3.5" CBE it would make sense we don't have it restricted by the downpipe...

Can always buy a DP and cut off the downsize piece at the end. Weld on an extension to make it the same size.

It just seems like a lot when a manufacture should have already accommodated for this.. I would assume..

Maybe, but the OEM exhaust flows good up past 600. So most aren’t going to need bigger than OEM size. Can try to contact those making it and see if they can make it 3.5.

I guess that is the issue, the 3.5" full might not be necessary... just feels silly to me I guess to have the aftermarket downpipe being a bottleneck in the full exhaust system lol!

I went with the mrm 4.5” unit, it’s designed so that you can easily modify to the outlet size you need. Simply cut the bottleneck off and put a straight section. Scroll down on their product page and they post photos of where to cut.

Yes and no. On a Pure, I've personally seen a car gain 60WHP going from stock to a full 4" exhaust with no change in tune. Bigger turbos would gain even more.

Oh yea not saying there’s no benefit, just that most people won’t chase that increase. A lot of supras are just down pipe and tune. If your chasing all the performance you most likely aren’t worried about having to buy an off the shelf down pipe that’s bigger the OEM.

I should have stated to modify to a 4” outlet, for 3.5 most should do it.

yeah it looks like about half of those neck down to 3.15 before the flex section, so you're pretty much stuck

I have seen some do 3.5 flex section, so it's just the outlet, luckily.. but just surprises me no one does true 3.5

How do you propose they standardize it? There are very few true 3.5" exhausts on the market. At last check, there are more 4.0" than 3.5". Do they use slip fit? Band clamp? V-band? How would this manufacturer offer a downpipe that requires no modification? Supra customers bitch constantly on this forum when something needs even a millimeter of shaving for an ideal fit. Can you imagine the whining if every downpipe had a high chance of needing a cut-and-weld? Or they asked you to modify your exhaust?

For what's off the shelve that can be ordered online, the only product I've found that comes out with a 3.5" diameter exit is from Dynamicautowerx. If you want something catted, ETS makes a downpipe with a 4" exit.
