Charge Pipe for 2024 3.0

I have read that there are eventually integrity issues with the stock BMW charge pipe but at what point (time or mileage) does a change out become necessary?
There are plenty of aftermarket products but my car is still under warranty.
I would ask the same question for the cooling system
My last car was a 1996 BMW M3 that I owned for 27 years until May. Eventually I changed out / upgraded every system on the car. That was driven by a set of guidelines and that is what I am seeking here. My car is running fine right now but I believe completely in predictive / preventative replacement

I personally have never seen a stock one fail on a stock turbo car no matter how hard it was run. It’s possible that maybe some of the guys who track their cars may have different information to share though.

You only need to upgrade the charge pipe if you plan to upgrade the turbo or run meth injection. Stock turbo doesn't make quite enough boost to crack or break it.

My charge pipe was fine for basically 60+ track events, 40 of which was on a larger turbo with up to 30psi out the top of the rev range. Then one day it decided to not be okay with it and it blew itself apart on track.

I dunno, I was going 140mph at the time. Only reason I knew it happened is when I went back on throttle after the braking zone and the car made no boost and sounded like a kazooo.

Good point and stock being key. Most failures I’ve seen on ours, are on modified ones. Not that it can’t be done right but a lot of people don’t. They are the first to ask you however, how much poWahh you running and what’s your top speed?!?

Yeah I wouldn't bother changing out the charge pipe unless you decide to do a turbo upgrade/intake manifold.

It's the heat cycles that cause the plastic to get brittle and crack over time. There is no right answer for when to replace it. If you're not tracking or upgrading the turbo it's really a non-issue

Yea, if anything the smaller size with the charge pipe helps with air velocity.
