I kind of want to do this but worried about all the dirt/debris that might just get stuck inside and wedge in there. and dirty the inside of the engine bay? Let us know how it hold up and maintenance.
I agree.. I used make those fake vents on s2000 functional and was OK but at the end of the day, dirt and grime sneak through it can't get it out bothered me more than it was fake. Just for that, I don't mind fake vents until I really need it for the function.

maybe some like mesh would help with the bigger particles. but i mean right now with how CA is with all the fires and ashes flying everywhere. it would still get in.

i cut up my hood for my miata for better cooling (not really ideal for cleaning and maintenance, because all the dust gets in) as you hopefully can see.

Where in CA are you from? Make sure you anchor down that canopy. At the track, I've seen small gusts of wind pick up canopies and the legs end scratching the paint.

^^^i like that a lot! imo, thats the look Toyota should have gone with. i dont think cost would even have been a huge factor at all. the Z4s vents are in the same location.
