Clear Coat Damage on OEM Rims?

Hey Everyone!

I was washing my car the other day when I noticed what looks the clear coat on one of my wheels may have been nicked by a rock or something. What are my options for getting this fixed and should I be in a hurry to get it fixed? I was worried about rusting but I realized these wheels are aluminum, but just to be on the safe side I figured I'd get some advice from y'all.

I've also attached some pictures (even though they're not the best at showing it) in case someone wants to verify if it actually looks like the clear coat has been peeled.

I wouldn't worry about it, damage is inevitable no matter how careful you drive. No further damage will happen as far a rust, Just enjoy the car.

yep. i agree /w sd_mk. if it really bothers you, you can take it to wheel shop or powder coat with satin black or other color.

I would check with guys who fix curb rash. They can probably touch up those nicks, right on your driveway.

It's very hard to mimick the brushed/polished aluminum finish the stock wheels have, so instead of making things possibly worse, just wait til you really need a reason for new wheels.

Cool thanks for the replies you guys! I think I'll just go with SD_MK's advice and just keep on enjoying the car. It def is a bummer to see the wheel get nicked like that (never seen that happen before) but I feel like I'd be bending over backwards just getting one little thing fixed only for it to possibly happen again.

Powder Coating is definitely the route I would (and did) go. The chrome is so damn ugly anyway, might as well fix 'em and get them in a color you like. Bronze and Black are so hot right now.
