I have an Ecutek tune, 93 pump gas, and want to upgrade to e50.

Not counting the fuel kit and installation, what does the tune generally cost?

Thanks.

Probably just ask your tuner that did your current tune?

I had a stage 1 93 oct OTS tune, and it was $800 to go to a stage 2 flex fuel custom tune. Essentially the previous tune was thrown away because I was moving from stage 1 (intake only) to stage 2 (intake + DP). I basically had to pay for 2 custom tunes at $400 each, one at 93 and one at E50, and the flex fuel allows the system to smoothly move between them. If you have a 93 oct tune for your current set of mods and JUST want to add the flex fuel, then my guess is it would be more like 400 for just that second half.

Depends on your tuner. You get what you pay for. Tunes/Revisions by Payn can be $1,300+/map, but they're good, fast, safe, reliable.
Holy hell I thought the $499 I was paying to Pureboost to tune me on MHD was a lot! Very happy with this tune so far and it is also safe and reliable.

I was quoted 1000 from one tuner. Just seemed like a lot given my initial tune was 1300 total including Ecutek kit and license.

Ideally I’d like to find a good tuner for about half that price. Suggestions?

I'm not sure I'm with you on that, but we do all have different goals with the car.
I'm just saying the cost of a re-tune is expensive (basically the same cost it seems). It would be ideal to get the 93 and flex all tuned in one go vs two different ones.

I'm with you on not going cheap on the tune.

Looks like you are in Austin. If you need the Flex kit and tune give @Zupraman (Curtis) at Performance Playground Engineering a shout. Im sure he can package up something for you.
