I just picked up a 2026 last week and noticed that heatsink on the diff looks different from the 2024 I had. Anyone know anything about these changes?

It's the cover they use on the M lites like M240i/M340i/M440i and now the 2026 Supra because the Final Edition can't use the normal Supra cover because the Z4 bracing won't clear the larger cooling fins.

Interesting. I hope that doesn't make my diff cooling inadequate.

a downgrade in terms of cooling capability, the new cover is on the 2025 model as well. Won't be a bad idea to switch to pre 25 covers

Probably wouldn't be super noticable as the much heavier M lites have the smaller cooling fins. If I had to guess, I think BMW/Toyota decided to put the larger cooling fin cover on the Supra because of the shorter wheel base which would make the car more tail happy compared to the longer wheel base G-Series.

Of course, the Z4 always had the smaller cooling fin covers because of the Z4 underbracing that the Supra Final Edition now shares.
