High guys, my first post to say I feel a bit cheated. Just switched into a new 2023 Supra from a 2017 Cayman S. Watched and read loads of reviews and I was prepared for the handling to be a little less than the Porsche, what I didn't expect (given that the Cayman was the 4 cylinder less nice sounding version) was that the Supra would be pants in comparison. Less power, less noise, no pops and bangs, even the gearbox is way off the instant change of the Porsche PDK and I'm missing the suspension upgrades. Of course the problem is that all the reviews I read were from the states and Canada, if I'd have paid more attention I'd have realised the Euro version is neutered. Just for a laugh, guess how much you guys think the local Toyota dealer in France wanted for a 2000km oil change? It took me half an hour to explain why I didn't want to wait for the 10000 KM one. So just for GR oil, filter and 30 minutes Labour, have a guess?

Idk, any shop that’s wants to charge you for a bmw grade oil change will always rip you off. Do it yourself for the cost of materials and 30 mins or find any shop that works more on BMWs and it won’t be a crazy number. Toyota has no idea what they’re doing with these cars in service, expect to get thrown around.

You're not wrong, although even BMW charge an arm and a leg for the correct oil. I bought directly from the states and even with international shipping and duty it was fraction of the cost to buy here.

Yea, again, going to a dealership will always cost you more too, I bet Porsche would want even more. I use FCP Euro and get a full oil change kit for under $60 and future changes are free, only cost shipping, but I don’t know their international options.

Yes the euro cars are stifled by the exhaust and opf filter for emissions. Mine is a uk euro spec. Can hardly hear the engine. That will have to change…..

Garage whifbitz do and exhaust for low money and also the wiring harness for the euro opf loom to keep the electronics happy. That will liberate the noise a bit. I couldn’t believe how silent mine is even in sport mode.

The cheapest seller I could find who would ship an oil change kit internationally was $115, cost me another $100 for delivery. Mind you oil only here was $485.

For the most part, oil is oil, find some 0w-20 from a brand you like that sells in the EU and order the filter from Toyota for $15. You don’t need the ‘GR Supra specific’ oil

well, i learned about a new country between Italy and France today
It's between France and Spain, apart from all the mountain roads, the best bit is that unlike France isn't doesn't have an eco tax on cars, which is 20K for a Supra in France now.

Apart from being LHD mine will likely be the same spec, I see Garage Whifbitz aren't far from my part of the UK, Bristol and Hereford, might be worth a visit when I'm next back. Tunnels just aren't fun anymore;)

Upgraded my euro spec with a new muffler, catless downpipe, opf delete +++ more parts to make more sound.
Flashed the DME with BM3 CustomROM Multimap and fitted their flex fuel kit at the same time.
The transmission got a XHP Stage 2 flash that activated the upshift fart that our euro's are missing.
Running with E50 and close to 500rwhp I find this car way more fun than the 997 Turbo (Tiptronic) I test drive before buying the Supra.

So hang in there, start changing out some parts and it will wake up to life.

Ya I have heard the Eu cars are a bit of a mess stock, under powered, sound like nothing, etc etc. Shame you guys still get the 340hp engine. An exhaust and XHP will wake it up a lot, add an intake for some nice turbo noises and throw in a nice set of coilovers and sway bars that will greatly improve handling. another big interior upgrade (as biased as I may because it is my own) a nice custom steering wheel really helps, the stock wheel is a let down in terms of look and more importantly feel. Upgraded to a thicker better bolstered and better-looking unit makes miles of difference.

Nitroyellow, do you have a website? I’ve read a lot of good things about your steering wheels and interested in learning more about pricing and options.
