Do charge pipes do anything?

New owner here guys. Interested in some Mishimoto Charge Pipes. Do they do anything performance wise or make it sound better/louder? Or pure cosmetic

From my understanding, you only want to upgrade charge pipe if you are planning on tuning your car and running more boost, the original charge pipe breaks when you go for more boost.

Less true with Gen2 B58. They can handle a lot of boost now.

For looks until you get serious about HP.

I could be wrong but there’s no benefit to it unless you are running very high boost (ex. Aftermarket turbo, flex, etc…) i think for stock turbo setups there’s no point best of my knowledge

The guys above are right. You need a charge pipe for

* TONS of boost
* Meth
* Nitrous
* Most aftermarket intake manifolds

I changed mine simply because metal over plastic. Did I need to? 100% no. Did I want to? 100% yes.
