Hey all,
I have received mixed messages on this. My ECU is locked with my 2021 supra premium.
I just got the FI exhaust and I am wondering if I should get the FI downpipe to match, only that I heard that a downpipe can actually hurt the car if the car is not properly tuned.
Can this be confirmed? Sorry if this was brought up before and I didnt RTFF
Thanks for any knowledge!

Do you see any gains without a tune on any down pipe catted or un-catted?
VM Engineering posted a dyno showing that the downpipe adds 20 whp on a stock car

you will be fine, you will most likely get a check engine light that you will have to clear every 3 or so ignition cycles, but you'll see about 18-22whp gain from a catless downpipe, quite a few people have already put the cars on the dyno, and maybe get 7-10 whp from the exhaust (maybe) idk, I think I felt a little butt dyno when I did my AWE but it could be placebo. you will be able to tune your car soon, just go catless and once you can tune you'll tune for it.

For me it’s the cost vs the benefit. Adding a downpipe without a tune or piggyback will result in slightly higher horsepower and better sound at the expensive of a potential CEL or warranty denial if you have a powertrain issue.

I personally wouldn’t do a downpipe without a tune.
