Drain plug possibly cross threaded?

Oil change time came and decided I would do it myself this time, was going smoothly till it came time to put the drain plug back on. Hand tightened it and then went in to torque it down but it just didn't want to tighten so I tried to take it out but it wouldn't come out either. Nothing is leaking as of now, car sat overnight in garage and no oil on the ground, drove the car to class (30 minutes away) and still nothing leaking. My guess is I cross threaded it, is there an easy fix to this without a new oil pan?

I swear I saw a thread on this here a while ago. Same kind of situation and the OP was talking about dealer recommending a new pan and all that I believe. Sounded like overkill but I remember this being a problem multiple people brought up. No leaking, just the bolt feeling like it almost went past the threads.

The pan drain hole is stripped. It doesn’t take much on these cars since the pan is aluminum. You will need a complete replacement or drill and tap if you have the tools.

This is the reason I tighten mine with a ratchet until its snug. If your torque wrench is off by a few inch pounds then it strips the threads.

You can drill and tap the hole to the next size up for common drain plugs.
This is what I would do, I would pull the pan to do it though to be 100% positive there are no drill shavings left behind.
