Im taking a unique solution that doesn't wire the same way at that at all and I'll take it even further.
Well it just needs to open the boot trunk 😂 from an external button. Increasing complexity just increases cost, which in turn reduces interest.

Sure, that's fair. All I really want to know is how your solution behaves. Do you know, if somebody presses the button while the car is locked, what happens? Does the trunk open?
it is an extension of the button in the drivers door and behaves the exact same as that one. ❤

Well, that's easy, but if people want a complete system, that's what has to happen.

As originally stated, I'm reviving this project for Jordan Best, which is why I named it such. He's a brilliant fabricator and I believe his work deserves to live on.

evolution though, is a good thing. I always appreciate the challenges people pose to me because a collection of intelligent brains is always a great thing to have.

Long story short, car locked, button locked.
Got it, thanks.

I'd love to see you make further progress on this as I'm very interested in the version with the sensor that can automatically unlock the car and open the trunk with the button. Understandably that version will probably be a lot more expensive but I think it's worth it for the convenience.

I don't think a lot more expensive, let me source parts and test it and see what I need to do for it ❤

Installing now and will get some action videos in a bit. Trying to 3D scan some parts since I have the bumper off.

I ordered mine on September 13th. Any idea when a batch might be shipped?

putting the kits together, waiting on my business cards to arrive and I'll start pushing stuff out.

you're getting better hardware, so I'm glad I waited and tested more.

In this current configuration you'll need to hit unlock on your key fob.

working on figuring out a keyless access add-on that you'll be able to add separate from this later on ❤

these are active on my store and I'm currently filling orders.

If pulling out the key fob to unlock the car then also just press the trunk release button on the fob.
If placing hand on handle to comfort unlock then also open the door and press trunk release.

Cool concept, but not really an added convenience.

It is for me. There are times where the key is in the car while I'm needing to get into the trunk. Actually, it's happened quite a bit. This is great for someone like me.

What if you used the touch sensor from the door handle and added it into the button?
Then just connect the wires to the same place the door handle ones go to (or splice them into the same wires) so that the car thinks that the door handle unlock is happening when the button on the rear hatch is pressed.

I don't know the feasibility of doing all of that, but it makes sense in my head.
