Been there done that too many times. Yes, under tray will be keeping them for you.

I recently installed another Verus heat shield and put a towel down below the shield which proved effective in catching my bolts and washers I inevitably dropped multiple times.

A tip that made my most recent install easier: after the shield is held in by the two larger head bolts, start at the harder to reach, bottom most bolts on the side. Getting these two started proved to be much easier than starting with the top as you have full flexibility of aligning the holes.

You can also access the under tray through the plastic cover where you drain the oil might be around that hole somewhere, worth looking that little plastic cover twists right off.

Pull the oil access cover off and use a flex shaft magnet on on a stick to sweep over the interior of the cover. I can tell you some stories of being an aircraft engineer on flying boats and dropping tools if you like.
