Hi Supra friends! So I've started making some carbon fiber merch in addition to an intake and a couple of other small carbon pieces for our platform that should be available soon. I would like to give away the first batch of 10 key chains here on the forum in exchange for some feedback on quality. Some pics to add to my Etsy shop would be really cool too. These are CNC cut then hand finished with the back getting a very light wet sanding while the front is more aggressively sanded and polished. The polishing cuts into the fabric a little bit and creates a rather unique look. The key chains are cut from a panel made using six layers of 6k plain weave pre-preg carbon fiber. The fabric itself is left over Boeing aerospace grade material, though the certificate is expired so I can't really guarantee how well the key chain will perform should you take it into space. :)

To grab yours just reply to this post with your favorite picture of your Supra key (we all have one of those, right?), PM me your shipping details and then just let me know what you think once it shows up. Thanks, and I'm really looking forward to hearing some opinions!

Those look awesome OP! I've been working on some parts for our platform as well with 3d printing as plugs for molds (will be posting hopefully somewhat soon). Let me know if you want anything 3d printed to make molds from. I'd be happy to help out. I actuslly 3d printed a very similar Keychain in yellow to match my supra.

A forged version would be neat too!

Thanks, and I very well might take you up on that offer of helping with a 3D printed plug! I've got a few ideas that will need way more talent with 3d design than I currently have. So what pieces have you come up with so far? Would love to see some pics. And let me know if you want any of your work done up in dry carbon.

No problem! I'm still definitely learning when it comes to modelling. It's been a hell ofba learning curve lol.

So far I've designed an anti-wind buffeting kit that's worked up to 130mph, a phone mount that fits in the same spot as a sport clip mount but doesn't cost $50 ?, and I've been working on paddle shifter extensions.

However, my main work has been around a lip kit. I've been working with @tunerkits on Instagram to take his 1/10 scale Supra model and the aimgain kit for said model, and make it fit the actual car. I'll make a whole post about it once I make more progress since I'm just starting to mount the rear spats and the lip will need a fair bit of adjustment. But it's honestly been a ton of fun.

Oh, ok, you're not messing around. An aero kit was my next project where those 3d modeling skills would be needed so yeah, we should definitely talk some more about your kit.

Haha thanks! I will say, @Tunerkits designed the kit based on the Aimgain parts, I have just been tweaking them for mounting holes, fitment, etc so I'm no master ? but feel free to DM me!

Got the keychain. Material, cutout, and pattern is nice. It's a bit too big to comfortably carry around in pockets. It would work for those who clip their keys on their pants, but I usually pocket mine.
I have it attached to my spare key now rather than my primary that I bring around.

Hey, thanks to you and everyone else that gave feedback. It was exactly what I was looking for. Everybody pretty much had the same stuff to say too. They liked the polished raw finish, which was the really important part, but nobody likes walking around with a yardstick in their pocket. ? So I'm just going to call those a backpack tag or something similar and make an actual keychain. I shrunk the size considerably then smoothed out some of the pokey out bits. Also switched up the fabric layup and the curing process some. The new panels will be alternating 0 and 45 degrees instead of all of the tow running the same direction. This takes out most of the flex. The cure is now done with an aluminium panel and release film rather than between two metal panels. This gives a different look and feel to the back side that's pretty neat. I should have a batch of the new keychains finished and sent out this week so let me know what you think of the updates!
