Since I have been running the AMS intake manifold, I've been looking into it and trying to clean up the engine bay of clutter and simplifying things. Has anyone gone route of removing the EVAP line that goes from the purge valve to the intake and FWD side of the intake manifold? I imagine some people running bigger turbos/top mount setups that don't have this have had to code this sensor out to prevent a CEL. I saw Kern417 post a video on YouTube a while back but this was on a gen1 b58.
Anyone got any suggestions or run into any issues with removing this? Would love and appreciate input from people on this generations platform.

You can remove it and code it out, yes.

Alternatively, you can route that shit under the intake manifold.
Is it something that would have to be coded out via Ecutek with my tuner? If I decided to pull it off before my tuner could code it out, would it have any affect on anything other than a CEL?

I originally was trying to do that, but the amount of stuff under there is already pretty tight. I was already looking into extending the plug from the purge valve itself and placing it closer to the firewall so it would clear up room as well.

I don't think you can code it out with Ecutek, likely with BMW Protool or ISTA.

I removed mine completely, and it ran just fine but had a CEL. My tuner must coded it out through EcuTek as I no longer have the CEL.

Where did you disconnect from and did you have to plug it?

For all the big brains in here, are there any potential issues from doing this?

I'm having trouble remembering and I don't have my car right now to look. But I know I just disconnected where it does down under the car, and capped it off. Then where it goes to the front on engine, I left the wiring plug disconnected. I'm trying to remember where the hoses all go to the front of the engine but I just removed all the hoses by the turbo water pump. If it left anything open I must have just capped it as well. I know where they went into the intake manifold, my CSF manifold came with plugs for all of them. I removed everything in the diagram you posted, not just the circled parts.

Thanks. What did you use for caps on the OEM parts?

Any chance you got pictures of how you "capped" or disconnected pre purge valve? Currently I have only removed everything that was highlighted in my original picture.

If removing everything completely, does this need to have a one way valve or filter to prevent a backup of pressure? Or does the pressure+vapor have a secondary way out near the filler of the gas tank?

Vacuum caps. Here's an example

I'm looking at pics in my build thread trying to remember. You can see it's there and then with it all removed there.

I was wondering the same.

Bump.

Anyone with an example(s) how they deleted their system? Would love to finish decluttering and open up some more space under the hood. ?
