Hey guys! Limp mode is always an old friend of mine. I have experienced this issue for quite a while, but normally it would not happen until the third or the very last session of the day. And it would be gone when the temp go back to normal. I always keep an eye on the fuel level to make sure it is above 1/2 after each session to avoid the infamous fuel pump issue. However, On my 1/28 Sebring track event, this issue happened since the very first lap of the day.

I think it is necessary to mention some performance mods that I have done:

-Full exhaust with a catless down pipe
-Injen Intake
-BM3 tune
-Mishimoto Heat Exchanger
-Mishimoto Radiator

I think the limp mode that I experienced before is caused by the extra heat from extra power.

In order to deal with those extra heat, I got those Heat exchanger and radiator and got them installed before the event. The mechanics who did it told me it may have some air bubble in the system, but I do not know how does that bubble has anything to do with the power loss. The entire day I could not have the performance that I wanted.

Fellows, what do you think?

Dude that sucks!!!!!! I would check the BM3 pages or ask your tuner how to turn it down or off on track days. I don’t know if that’s possible like the JB4?!? I do know I turn my JB4 off at Sebring and problem has never happened again for me.

If it’s IAT related, you are now finding that the radiator upgrades don’t do much. You have to upgrade the mani-cooler.
Been saying it for years. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’m only doing this for fun and the summer (6 months down here) isn’t fun, for me at least. And I know an EOS manifold would be the holy grail for bringing down my temps, if I wanted to pull more power or drive during the summer. What are your guys thoughts on trying an upgraded heat exchanger running on stock power? Perhaps getting an extra month of tracking, such as April down here in schweaty FL….

you can go for some dyno runs with live diagnostics and check out which temps are getting too high.

How much whp is your Supra?

You can fine tune the torque and whp with Ecutek.
Usually the engine will cut off whp when there is too much heat before going limp mode, don’t know what bm3 is deactivating.

Not a Corvette.
Ok, I have one...

1-What angle do the wing guys run that track?

I just installed the full Verus package and will be playing with angles.... going to start mild at 4-6% and see how it feels.

2-Do you change the angle at different tracks?

For me i run my small home track a lot. It is technical and has a bunch of slowish turns. would think i could run a more aggressive angle and then run the 4% at like VIR where my average speed is tons higher.
