First post - I recently installed a JB4 and during the process I broke a couple of the off-white/yellowish sensor locks.

Hey, glad to be a part of the community! I installed a JB4 kit on my 2021 supra and broke some of the offwhite/yellowish sensor locks, does anyone know where I can get new ones and how to relock them when you take them out too far?

I also lost one of the metal clips on the intake cover, where can I find another one of those?

I also dropped a ratchet head and the aforementioned metal clip from the intake cover into the engine bay, I'm assuming since the car hasnt blown up yet that everything is alright and they will either end up in a filter or fall out somewhere?

Thanks in advance and glad to be a part of the Supra club. I love this car.

Man, maybe you shouldn't be tinkering on your car and get it professionally worked on. I hate to see you ruin a brand new Supra and Toyota not warranty it bc you messed it up yourself. :(

Take pictures of what you broke, and I'll try to help you source new stuff.

It sounds to me like you tried to rush this. Take your time, slow down. It's ok to take a few hours and do something right. Keep track of all your pieces, etc.

I added the pictures, the steel tab, there are 4-5 I believe and the one closest to the front of the car fell out.

The little yellowish tab are the locks that go into the sensors. I took them too far out when unlocking them, I tried to push one back in and it broke. I still don't know how to get this one back in, scared to push too hard since the last one broke.

I'm willing to buy an entirely new air-intake cover replacement but I can't find an OEM one anywhere.

I lost one of the sensor clips when i did my JB4 But i learned after the first to treat very gingerly. connection never came loose. If your worried use a small ziptie

Never heard of anyone losing those metal clips. very simple and almost foolproof... almost.

Have to search for an exploded parts diagram and see and or call your dealer.

any parts lost are in the engine tray below the car. Not a good long term idea to have parts and or tools sliding around in there.

drop tray from underneath.

go slower and more careful next time.

dollars to donuts you will be back here with another similar issue! :)

I made another post and somebody linked me to THEIR local toyota parts dealership and I realized that the ones near me are deficient and don't have their parts stores set up as well as his. I was able to find the "Air Cleaner Assembly Clip"

The metal retaining clip is either this or this.

I'll find the sensor clip in a few minutes, but you likely don't need it. A zip tie or electrician's tape will almost certainly suffice.
I think what you linked is for the hose itself as opposed to the "Air Cleaner Assembly Clip" which is just the metal clip for the "Air Cleaner?" cover. I was looking for Air Intake cover/lock/clip and couldn't pull it up.

It's very hard to tell what they're selling from those pictures.

Clip for Cover?

I've been fine without the "sensor locks" because they clip in on their own, but I'd like it to look "stock" for possible warranty purposes.

90118-WA177 is the correct part number

I mean, this is small enough where you might be able to claim it was never there. Warranty should be fine. They're not going to come after you because a clip is missing. That said, they will be able to detect you had a JB4 in, so there's that as well. (acceleration watermarks, etc).

I probably won't be back here, I wanted to play around with the car so I did the JB4 myself, after this its all up to a reputable mechanic. I only broke one of the sensor clips the rest are only in part way because I'm scared to push them back in because I broke one.

The metal clip fell out on its own, I really didn't do anything to it, I fished it out of the engine bay and put it back in and it fell out again. It's tension/pressure seated and I'm assuming that the plastic piece it inserts itself into is just not tight enough. I don't know. I never applied any pressure or force to it, it just fell out while I was putting the assembly back in. Maybe I hit it against something.

Any advice to get them out of the engine bay? I don't know what "drop tray from underneath." means. Jack the car up and remove the metal piece underneath?

The bottom of the car is plastered in plastic panels. They're relatively easy to remove. It's really not a big deal if it's down there. Just let nature do its thing and let it fly out. All sorta of debris ends up there.

I don't know how experienced you are...but everyone starts somewhere....we were all beginners once. Trying to remove sensor clips without breaking them isn't as easy as it seems, I mean it takes practice and patience.

All I can say learned a lot by breaking and losing stuff. Don't feel bad...any guy who is a proficient wrencher today went through the "I feel stupid" part of things.....Heck we always keep finding those moments.

Maybe you can try to push those clips in...just be gentle.
