I genuinely love this car. And coming from someone who hasn’t driven a ton of sports cars, this is hands down the best one I’ve ever owned.

The styling, the factory exhaust sound, the mildly sketchy rear end when the turbo kicks in—it’s all an absolute blast. Sure, I’ve got a few gripes, but honestly? I get that it’s basically a BMW under the hood, and after almost four years of ownership, I truly could not care less. I still haven’t even unlocked its full potential since it’s my daily, so 500–700 HP isn’t on the immediate to-do list. That’ll happen someday when I can afford a beater. For now though, my wife and I love the hell out of this car.

My one real complaint is the GR branding. I wish Toyota leaned into it more. The GR logo only shows up on the back, and it honestly feels like it was slapped on at the last minute. There are BMW logos everywhere, and the GR badge feels like an afterthought. Which is a shame, because the GR name is starting to feel as iconic as the GT-R badge to me—and the people behind it should be proud. The A90 just doesn’t fully reflect that.

That said… man, I freaking love this car. And I can’t wait to eventually mess with the ECU and really wake it up.

That was before GR was actually a cool thing.
