Hey all. Same thing happened to my 2021 Supra. Navigation is gone after the brake recall. Only way to fix it is to get the new head unit.

My question is, will this just do a soft lock on the ECU where I need to get it unlocked by Visconti tuning again? Or will this need to go to Russia for a full unlock? Iā€™m tuned now on ecutech and want to return once I get the work done.

Hoping someone has had an unlocked ECU who went through this also.

thank you!

Visconti told me that they could do the unlock and retune my 2020 if I had the recall done. However, yours is just another reason you could not pay me to allow a dealer to touch my ecu.

No, your head unit replacement should not affect anything at all on the ECU.
Whether or not the dealer decides to update any firmware is a different story.
