Anybody here running the NGK 93560? Will the "1 step colder" make more power?
Agreed w/ the above.

They won't "make" more power, they're more of a solution. Slightly better heat dissipation back to the cylinder head, keeps you from having preignition (knock) if you tend to run really hot. So they can fix a problem, if you have one, but they aren't better nor recommended if you aren't having problems.

1 step colder plug is not a great idea for a road car and even on the track a std engine isn't going to need a colder plug. If there is any knock or pre ignition the ECU will back off the timing to keep it under control. Once a fine wire precious metal plug is fouled it's junk not like the old days where you cleaned and re gapped them and they were good again. Your priority should be a clean plug over any perceived benefit from a colder grade of plug.

Well not really. They pull std plugs of unknown mileage with gaps all over the place and install NEW plugs one step colder and make more power without any misfires up top. You can't draw conclusions about plug performance based on this. You need to compare a new set of std plugs with a new set of colder plugs back to back. Not old OE grade plugs and brand new one step colder. In addition the road isn't the dyno. The road has lots of cold starts and low load rpm conditions to consider.

Not a Corvette.
Over 600whp and 29-30 psi. E40. OEM Champion plugs, stock gap. Beat to crap on track at least once a month. Logged every second on track. No issues. I know many others with the same experience.

Plugs are like dynos, theirs are always better.

Look up the heat range for oem plugs for b58 gen 1. Compare it to revised heat range for b58 gen 2. Report back your findings.

Finally, look up the oem heat range for some older engines such as the 4g63, 2jz-gte and LS1. How do they compare? If you can, create a table with each engine in rows and columns for heat range, power, displacement, and specific power output. Are there any trends?
