Ok thank you everyone who replied. This is the first issue in 5 years and I hate going to the dealer. I've only been to the Toyota dealer for maintenance for the Supra, for maintenance on my 2024 GR Corolla, and for yearly inspections and almost every time I have an issue with them. They only have one guy who was trained in the Supra and he's always busy with other stuff. They also own a Chrysler/Fiat dealer across the street from the Toyota dealer, and I brought my Fiat 500 for all new brakes 2 years ago, then 12,000 miles later they said I needed new brakes in order to pass inspection. When I called them out on it they looked up the records and said oh ya 12,000 miles ago, ya well you still need brakes, or we won't pass you. Brakes don't wear out in 12,000. They are a typical scam dealership, but I live in rural area and it's 45 minutes to this dealer, other dealers are over an hour, up to 2 hours away. Might be worth the 1-1/2 hour drive to another dealer.

But anyway, thanks for all the help and advice, if you guys hadn't helped me, my warranty would have run out and I'd have to pay. I have not gotten the low oil warning again, but the check still will not run. So, I will make an appointment and go from there.

it's linked to pressure being too high, not necessarily oil being too hot.

with the new oil pump, it will do a better job of controlling oil pressure so you won't experience the high pressure scenario that puts the measurement system outside of it's tolerance. that's why it fails at 16%. oil pressure gets to high, so it kicks out an error but doesn't actually throw a code.
@kern417 — I’m unable to get any oil read out in BimmerLink at any time. From your research and videos on this, could this be reflective of an oil sensor issue separate from the pump? Appreciate any thoughts you have on this.

Finally got the appointment scheduled. I live in a rural area and the closest dealer only has one tech that took the Supra training and can work on it. Since he's always doing other stuff I usually have to wait 2-3 weeks or more just to get into the dealer. I call them to make an appointment and no one in service ever answers so you leave a message and they don't call back for days or weeks. Mind you, this is not a rinky dink dealer, this dealer has 20+ dealerships around this area, they simple don't care about the Supra, the handful they see a year doesn't make them any money. They'd rather service 10,000 Rav4's and Camry's.

Not to mention I was just about the first to buy a Supra in this area so when I go in for maintenance, coolant maintenance, brake fluid flush, etc, the things that are normal maintenance for the Supra, it's always the first time they are doing it, because no one has had the car as long as me in this area. It's a shame Toyota put this car out with no real support or experts to maintain it and fix it if needed. Around here, they essentially have no idea how to work on a "BMW". Maybe big cities are different, but not around here.

Anyway, as soon as I actually get it into the dealer and they figure out what's wrong and the fix (which we know will probably be the oil pump), I will update this thread.

Ah okay. So basically the direct opposite part of the state as me in the Hudson Valley. We also have horses and pigs and farms here too. :)
Ya opposite ends. I've actually never really been to the Hudson Valley area. Too close to NYC, lol, but I bet there are some nice rural areas and some great roads in the Hudson Valley.

Oil level measurement has never worked in BimmerLink. Which oil measurement setting are you using? Thanks much.

My bad, didn't see this. Dealer got back to me today after inquiring with a toyota engineer. They're replacing the oil pump under warranty thankfully

@AngryCar what dealership do you go to?
Sorry never saw this. Currently my car is at the West Herr Toyota. I've tried Batavia Toyota, Bob Johnson, and West Herr. While I've had some issues with West Herr with other cars they have always done my Supra right, so I went there again. Only time I had an issue with the Supra with them was when they wouldn't inspect the Supra since I had tint on the door windows which will fail a NYS inspection. Most places just say F NY and pass it anyway, but they wouldn't. Other than that, the times I went there, they have been good to my Supra.

Yesterday we were waiting to hear from Toyota to approve the warranty and so they could get the correct parts ordered. I didn't hear anything from them today. Hopefully tomorrow they tell me it's all approved and the parts are ready to be installed.
