Aren't those the same guys that criticized the Supra at launch?

I'll forgo reading and just assume the article at that link says something along the lines of "could not possibly have made a better financial decision plunking $60k into a Supra 1 year ago". Glad to finally have confirmation I'm a world class investor now that I've had my Supra 1 year and 2 weeks.

It was an OK read. They didn't quite say it just like that but doesn't seem like they did much research and almost based it off local information or nearby dealer prices. Only negative thing I remember reading was about sight lines but anytime I read any complaints like that I ignore them on any sports car (except Camaros)

"News" has always been and will always be a business of clicks, views, subscriptions, ratings etc.. Regardless of medium, time period, country of origin, politics, or even the car you drive. Learn to recognize this and you'll have one less point of stress in your life.

Back in 2020 you could find tons of articles on how bad the car was because there was a market for the Toyota Purists and MKIV fanboys. But those guys have all since moved on to other stuff to hate. So they don't write and market articles to those folks anymore. Now days, you'll only read about how awesome our car is. Why? Because that's the only article most of us will bother to read.

You might glean some truth if you read a head to head match up article like MkV vs. Z. Read it closely, pretend you own either car, and you'll realize you're reading a horoscope.
The reviews improved as the car improved and sales improved. Its performance in tests has shown a capable vehicle when compared to others. Thats how it appears to be. Its not about an article 'most of us' will read. There has been improvement and wider acceptance as well. You can go down a deep dark rabbit hole about the press and news rather easily. Dont.

You're right, sorry. Was arguing with my buddy over the weekend. I will stand by my point that these car articles are heavily slanted to the ownership. Rare to find one that reads like "Only a moron would have bought this..."

The sound this car makes when you first fire it up is worth every penny. The way time flows changes when you’re driving this car. It has such steady avg speed and that’s the key to being fast. Does it amazingly well and delightfully so. Glad I got one lol check the article again in 5yrs when it’s out of production.
