I’m running a big turbo on my Supra and want to figure out how to keep the stock transmission alive for as long as possible.
Since I’m not planning to build it, I’m looking for tips to help. So far, I’ve been avoiding hard launches and staying out of 6th gear.
What other advice do you have for keeping the transmission reliable?

I would think an upgraded trans oil cooler might help out a bit

The smartest thing is to keep the car stock. But what’s the problem with trying to make the transmission last while pushing more power? It’s like people running stock engines at 1000hp it might not be the smartest thing, but that doesn’t mean everyone has to build the engine right away instead of trying. Not everyone wants or needs to go all in on a full build.

No need to be an asshole about it
I don't think anyone is trying to be rude, but your question just seems ironic. You want to push more power, so you put a big turbo in your car, yet you don't want to build the trans to support the big turbo. You're kind of in a limbo where you either build the trans or revert back to stock turbo. Our stock trans can only handle so much, and assuming you're tuned on your big turbo, you're most likely over the stock trans' limit.

But I suppose you want 'advice' on trying to make the trans last while not reverting back to stock or building the trans. Like everyone else has said so far, you don't have many options other than to drive slow, don't do pulls, or turn your Supra into a show car?

If your worried about transmission life, then obviously keep the car stock...The transmission wasn't designed to handle higher torque and HP levels....

If you think that's being an asshole then you're really not gonna like the rest of the Internet
