I really can't stop smiling when I drive it. Just installed the Pedal Commander and OMG....instant acceleration. So much fun.....I feel I need better brakes! lol

Here is a simple recipe for fun in a 2021....
Bimmercode to start in Sport and it stays in Sport 100%x
JB4 - to Map3
Pedal Commander Sport +3

I would run on Map 2 until you can get someone to look at logs. Several people have destroyed turbos and motors running Map3 without proper logging.

You know, this car does something funky every 1-in-10 times that I flash a tune on it. It feels like the electric throttle control goes haywire and has a lag response time of 10 seconds before it starts to accelerate. All I have to do when this happens is shut the car off, lock it completely, and let it sit for about 15 minutes and it fixes itself. I've recently ran into this issue because I'm doing revision after revision after revision of tuning on a custom E50 blend. It's odd for sure, but I don't see the need for a "pedal commander" if you're not experiencing this issue, because when this issue isn't present, the pedal is very responsive.

Correct. I would not run map 3. Either map 2, or get a custom map via @DaBears

Sounds be six minutes. Fully ECU power-down is at six minutes.
True enough. I usually just go do some errands lol. Never actually timed it. Good to know!

So Map2 is safe and 3 is not ? i dropped it to 2 because you guys are freaking me out. Still same fun. I really can’t tell between 2 & 3

Correct. I would not run map 3 unless logs are looked at and you have good fuel. You can post your logs here:

Someone from BMS will look at your logs and usually reply within a day or so.

Or you can go with a custom map via @DaBears which is honestly the best thing you could do with a JB4.

How exactly is map 3 destroying turbos? I've seen this mentioned before but never had a solid explanation as to what specific problem it causes that results in turbo failure. I'm just running a JB+ until I can get a tune (I have an un-tunable '21), so I'm not worried about it, but would like to understand to avoid a potential future mistake.

Most people mess up their cars running map 3. If you look around the forum or facebook groups, people who run map 3 tend to blow up their stuff. Not sure on what causes it but I think it was too much boost without correct fueling? not 100% but yea I would recommend staying on map2 or doing a custom map.
