Hey whatsup guys, I am new to the car community/scene. I just bought a 2.0 supra back in february and im on the allocation list for the 6mt supra. I should have just waited to buy the 3.0 6MT but I got really impatient.

Anyways I wanted to ask some of you experts is a 3.0 6MT swap possible on 2.0? I was told it wouldnt fit on the 2.0 but it uses the same auto transmission and housing as the 3.0 and im wondering if its possible to get done with some custom work? Ill also replace the diff with the lsd from 3.0 as well as brakes/calipers/hubs.

I cant wait any longer and just gonna get oem toyota parts and put it in. I know it sounds stupid bc the 3.0 manual is only 8k-10k more (MSRP) but ive already been waiting a long time and theres still couple people ahead of me on the list.

Anything is possible if you're determined to throw money n time to. Your deterrent would likely be sourcing the MT components to begin with, then countless headaches with electronics, ECUs, TCU, all... Find right people to work, code. You might as well become BMW tech at that point ?.

Or just spend that money towards people selling MT at 80-90K or whatever...

There you go.

With enough time and money, you could make anything fit. Hell, RX7 guys get LS motors to fit.

Good luck getting parts tho. You’re best bet is to find a wrecked MT

You'll be waiting just as long for parts as you would the car. Let alone the down time to get all the coding right.

Just sell the 2.0 once you get the call for the MT.

This would cost considerably more then selling your 2.0 and buying a manual… they are out there even at Msrp. This would take 20k+ at least between parts and custom work. Money that you would never get back selling it as no one is going to want a manual swapped 2.0 Supra…

Yeah don’t 3.0MT swap. Either sale and buy the car you want, or enjoy the well balanced 2.0 - tons of fun even without the extra HP or manual.

I can get all the parts for around 5-6k theres a totaled MT nearby but yea im kinda wondering what the labor would be. Maybe it is better to just get the 3.0. But damn i really love my 2.0 too and would be perfect for canyons.

Sure you can! Pop that baby into neutral and give some low rpm revs.
lol man thats too much work tho dawg!! I just wanna be able to rev it up at will without having to pop it into neutral. I love revving the shit out of my car but also the automatic in sport mode isnt very smooth, it kicks pretty hard and you cant really control the gear shift. Even with the paddle shifters theres a lag when downshifting

This explains it. lol. No one in their right mind would attempt this. Too expensive. Too complicated. Too hard. And too easy to just buy a better car with a manual transmission baked in.
