Looking at a 3.0 premium with driver assit package for 56k.
They are only taking a grand off the msrp BUT they are giving me 25k for my trade vs the normal kbb which is 21k. So essentially i am getting 4k extra. So technically i am getting it for 52k. I am in no rush BUT my trade in value 3 months ago was 16k. So its obvious that went up. Should i jump on this or wait?

like I said i am in no rush just nervous my trade in value will drop back down to 16k. Thanks :)

I mean its not horrible. The dealers around me are all marking theirs up 10K or so due to the chip and supply shortage. You might be better off just selling your car outright. Keep in mind whatever they give you for your trade can count as a tax savings so that 25K is actually saving you a bit more in reality.....BUT if you can get that on a trade you I bet you can sell it for more than what the tax savings would be.

Depends on the market and what it can bring. A few sales agreements and see who will negotiate. Some will and some won't. Either way if and when you pull the trigger you will be more than pleased with your new found toy:cool:

If the Supra is really your upgrade car then yeah go for it. If you’re just doing it for the trade-in incentive then its a bad buy.

Are you sure of the trade in values? Did you get an estimate from zoom or someplace else to be sure? The used car market is insanely strong right now.

Just picked up a 2.0 W/safety-tech pkg, CF mirror caps, upgraded jbl sound system, etc... for 45K. Some have gotten a little better deal but almost identical to your situation, first dealer tried to ROB me on trade-value for my car but the one I purchased from gave me $4,500 more for my trade in so I JUMPED....... Sales guy let me know that they already had a couple offers on my Trade-in!!!!!!!

If the dealer is giving you that much more for trade-in, yeah, you may find a better offer on your car from a private seller but then again, you may not. The extra trade-in $$$ on my car convinced me to take the Supra at $2500 more than others have gotten for the same package level.

If you wait too much longer, that $52K deal may end up being more like $58K the longer this lack of inventory crap goes on....................................."Scared money don't make money...." ;)

I think if the trade in offer is that much more than everywhere else, you're getting a pretty solid deal.
For me personally, it wouldn't be worth selling your car outright for what's probably $2,000 difference. You'll probably make u a lot of the difference in tax savings on the trade (assuming you live in a sales tax state...for me a $25K trade would save me $1,500 in taxes). Plus you have to maintain the car in the meantime unless it sells in a day.

And the worst part is...you have to deal with people.

I'd pull the trigger and enjoy your new Supra!
