Installed my Valenti Taillamps and they worked, mostly. When i went to test the opening and ending action there was no response. More to the point the car wasn't locking and unlocking. Car only start when remote key is held up to the steering column.
Before any work was started, the battery ground was disconnected and the car was without power for 3 days. The instructions said to tap constant power from F244 "Door lock, exterior door handle electronics, telematic communications Box" at the rear fuse box and that's so i figured that would be a solid place to start. Removed the fuse tap and reinserted the 5A fuse from factory and verified via test light power on both sides of the fuse. With the fuse tap and provided 5A fuse installed I'm still getting power across the fuse. Tried cleared the fault codes too and that didn't work. note: Both keys don't lock and unlock the car and can only be started up when either key is held up to the receiver on the column. The car's central un/locking DOES work when actuated with the switch on either door panel.
Forum search on here led me to a thread that pinpointed to the antenna north of the battery and that the repair was a open wire and wire repaired. I didn't do any work around the antenna but worth a shot looking. removed the insulating tape and found no cause for concern there so im stumped. Looking to see if anyone had a direction they can give me. Thanks!
