Remember the GRHV? You think that transmission will actually be a thing?

I don't like fake engine noise but their approach to including simulated manual transmission operation intrigues me. Even Dodge is doing something vaguely like this with their electro-mechanical EV gearbox that will supposedly allow you to feel shifts.

We already know that it's possible to build EVs with one gear and which accelerate quickly but offer no drama or theater. Toyota's approach could potentially fall short of the potential for fun that folks like us will like... or this could be a success and something we will like.

Going unconventional and even a bit whimsical may actually translate to real fun behind the wheel. I'll reserve judgement until I can operate such an EV myself to have a firsthand opinion.

I hope they also apply this to any of the upcoming GR electric vehicle designs which will be attainable unlike an LFA-II.

It looks huge,. I wonder how its size compared to the LC500/500h.
