A little of topic, but since you took both of your Supras in,

How was the service?

It’s a simple procedure, but sometimes the mechanics at the quick lube station doesn’t care enough because it’s not a big RO ticket they are getting paid.

My car came with the Toyota Guard so I have extra 2 oil & filter change.
Not sure if I want to take it to Toyota, but at the same time it’s very important to have the service records in place. They will deny any warranty work if they don’t see any service records.
I service both of them at a local BMW dealership, the Toyota dealerships around me I do not trust. I service the oil there for a warranty paper trail.

tbh

It doesn’t matter what the forum here posts or what people says they paid.
cost of living varies state to state and also country to country.

you expect someone to say, “oh but mustardMKV on the forums said he paid $100 not $150” and expect the Dealership to drop the price? If you want to know the price you call ahead.
Actually that is completely false. I worked at a dealership for nearly a decade. Almost all dealership jobs are commissioned for sales. If you know how to haggle, they will come down. I just don’t have anything outside of an oil change done there so there’s no point in haggling when I don’t spend any real money there.

So then how do you haggle?
Let’s say an oil change is $150. How would you haggle that when supplies are $100?

This is something easier said that done on a forum post. Ask if there are any coupons or specials. Embellish how you plan to establish yourself with a dealership that goes out of their way to save you money because that really helps when you come in for all your major service. The bottom line is make them feel like they are reeling you in to make them that dealership that gets that major service. Some people aren’t sales driven and will never be good at haggling, I worked in sales my entire life, I even haggle at Best Buy, all you need to do is establish a business relationship with a store manager or supervisor to do that. Networking is key, same at a dealership build ties and friendship.

I have lived in big cities all my life all over the US, trust me, it works or I wouldn’t do it.

yeah that's a hard pass from me.
Yeah no wonder he's so grouchy, every time he steps outside his door there's animals & weather events trying to kill him.

Yes, unfortunately this is true. We also have some of the most venemous snakes int he world too.

On the up side, we do have lots of beaches and the people are pretty friendly. And as a general rule, we generally give slightly less than a fuck. ?
