Background:
Good afternoon everyone. Some of you may recognize my username for putting C8 wheels on my car (which was highly frowned upon by some.) But with this said I have alot of background in things that are much more mechanically heavy and semi-complex in nature. I'm going to use this thread to hopefully go over what a potential manual swap would look like, what exact parts we would need and what hurdles we may have to jump that you may have not had to on older style manual (non-intelligent) transmissions. This is really just a greeting post as I want us all to work together to provide this as an option for those who are interested.

What I Know: we know the bellhousing is shared between all cars manual, auto, 2.0l, 3.0l. We also know that every rear end is different in gearing and in operation (electric vs mechanical) as I do more research I'll be populating this thread with my findings, part #'s diagrams and the like.

Cheers and happy holidays

PROGRAMS USED FOR RESEARCH
PSdZData v4.36.12 (will include part numbers for the 2020+ M240i which is the car I'll be using as a basis for parts comparison obviously there will be some variation but most major components should be similar or exact.)
2023 Toyota EPC (version number to come you need 2023 so it includes the diagrams for the manual car)
ONLINE ETK (bmw) https://en.etk.club
VIN: WBA2G1C37HV665473 (to put into ETK)
ONLINE EPC (tyt) https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/genuine/locate?c=Toyota
VIN: WZ1DB0G03PW055391 (to put into EPC)

PARTS
Rough Parts Outline (no diagrams yet 11/28/22)
Transmission [(huge thanks to @Guff for doing the recon on these transmissions please check out his thread on which transmission is connected to which gearing etc.) https://www.supramkv.com/threads/lets-talk-about-manual-transmission-swaps.5966/ ]

Transmission module (I'm guessing there is a separate module for hill assist and other intelligent manual functions treat this as a big maybe until I've got part #s EAG did this swap before me and managed to figure out this side so I'll have more info on this as I learn.)

Clutch pedal
Clutch pedal mounting hardware
Clutch pedal module / switch (like any other vehicle there is either going to be a module or a switch for neutral safety)
Clutch Lines
Center console interior assembly
Shifter assembly (ALL TOYOTA #'S)

There will be more added think of this as a rough sketch of what's to come. Realistically I'll have an oem BMW or Toyota part number connected to everything.

I've done Auto to Manual swaps in 2 cars, a old ford probe GT that i bought on a mechanics lien for 600$ and rebuilt the head, then blew the trans and had a donor car so swapped right over and helping on a 16 mustang GT again with a donor car. both those cars had plates for the block offs where the clutch went and was really simple, I don't see the same for the Supra, I don't see where a clutch would go, maybe someone with a 23 model could see if they changed up the firewall?

For the cost it would be so much easier to just sell the auto and buy the manual.

This is a thread to show it can be done. Less to do with power application more to do with headway where there will be interest in the future.

This statement is true now but not future proofed for later. This platform will exist well beyond the bounds of values currently

Of course it can be done. Anything can be done. That's easy. But there's zero point, this isn't a $600 Honda

Feel free to read quote above. Just because the information isn't valuable to you currently doesn't mean it won't be to somebody in the future when tackling something like this. It's not a thread to say it's better, or you should, or that it's currently an affordable thing to do. As the cars age because as all cars do they will. The information will already be collected here and become more valuable. It's just big boy legos I'm just facilitating the sharing of which pieces to use.

Seems like such an odd thing in this thread to have a problem with. Instead of being excited about different options and sharing open source information with people.
