Mixture To Lean: Error 118001

I went and filled up from 1/4 tank to full with E85. My check engine light came in shortly after. It is showing system to lean. Now on start up it struggles a bit to turn on like a sputter then it runs. Runs and drives fine other than that. Any ideas? Maybe the fuel? I doubt there is a tune but i do not know for sure. Since being locked. Checked charge pipe, all vacuum ports, boost ports, gas cap.

That's uh.. not gonna work. You need fuel system to run E85. E50 maxes out the stock fuel system with a trim. You might need to siphon some of it down.

So you put in around 10 gallons of E85? That's roughly like, E60-ish, way too much ethanol for stock fuel system and tune.

Definitely siphon some out as @zrk said above. Sounds like you might have been trying to go E30 but got the mix backwards.

Yeah that’s not very good. Stock injectors can’t handle anything past e50

Well shit. That they did. I should have done my research first. So question. It does however burn quick would it be fine to baby drive this until some goes down and i can fill it with reg fuel?

If it were me, I'd siphon some out (at least 5 gallons) and go get some 93 to put in before even starting or driving it. But I'm always overly cautious.

I got a tad of the tism. Listened to a local performance shop. Lesson learned. I now will avoid that place. I did do research and the articles i have read state it will be fine however it will throw a CEL.

You'll run real lean. If you absolutely cannot siphon it, STAY OUT OF BOOST.

I think they mean't to tell you fill a quarter of your tank with E85, then fill the rest up with Pump gas...? LOL.

Some people do that for a bump in the octane rating. I remember i used to do that, but i did 2 gallons vs 10. LOL. Either way, just drive it conservatively and stay out of boost, burn the gas naturally off if you can't siphon it.... OOOOOR if you wanna get messy, take off the fuel tank access cap on the bottom of the car as if you're doing a fuel pump upgrade (HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED.)

Local? Don't wanna bash anyone but since you are in the area go check out PPE (Performance Playground Engineering). They are building real fast supras and know their shit.
