Knowing that new MST has less “cold air”, I’d get the Injen, if I was to do it over again. If you feel the need to get one at all.Looking for a new intake to buy right now, but hesitant to pick this up due to it being essentially an open intake (for closed intake prices). Heat soak is my main concern, especially since they didn’t post any data about it
You guys have the M340i one on hand yet? I’m interested in picking this up. While not directly compatible with, it looks like I should be able to utilize it on my Pure900 with a third party 3.5 to 4 inch elbow.we are taking orders for the MST intake![]()
dm me the part number you are interested in and i will check pricing and stockYou guys have the M340i one on hand yet? I’m interested in picking this up. While not directly compatible with, it looks like I should be able to utilize it on my Pure900 with a third party 3.5 to 4 inch elbow.
turbo cars generally do not suffer from heat soak, but this intake has a cover to ensure that it is not an issue. they also have vents in the cover to still keep the intake loud so you get the best of both worlds.Has anyone actually installed this new V3 yet?
Wanted to see if any fitment issues and if any heatsoak issues since it appears to be an open box. Looks like they include a heatshield too?
Personally I think it will be fine. The inlets to this look to be facing the front of the vehicle where the OEM air inlet is. Could always throw on a cold air intake duct like the Verus engineering or one of the cheaper ones to be extra safe.Sorry. I meant IAT not heatsoak.
Curious if this new MST version with the heatshield placed up against the intake will be any different.
I'd love to add an intake to the supra but not with the risk of degrading performance from pulling in hot air

I'm personally gonna pull the trigger on this - just doesn't look to be shipping yet.
This opening is sucking in 100% hot engine air. The air inlet is at the bottom by the headlight.Personally I think it will be fine. The inlets to this look to be facing the front of the vehicle where the OEM air inlet is.

You're joking right? Everything under the hood gets the heat of the engine. That ain't sealed off from the rest of the engine bay.![]()
i dont understand the logic.
the filter is on the other side of the engine
the side of the engine has a heat shield
how is it sucking hot air?
