Over on the ol' BMW forums, when people experience weird issues like this, it is quite often the battery. Even a battery that shows proper voltage or is on a tender, when they age out and don't always supply consistent and adequate voltage, it can cause all kinds of strange electronic behavior.

If your car/battery is more than 3 years old, that may be a rather simple and inexpensive first thing to rule out. And don't worry so much about "coding" the new battery, that's just for recharging efficiency (on behalf of the alternator).

Appointment schedule at the dealer on the 6th. I'll update regarding the issue/fix.

The service advisor was aware of an issue with the parking sensors but not the amber flashing parking brake warning.

Let's see how it goes.

Just picked the car up. Tech said he just needed to reinitialize the parking brake. The scan showed code 0x4807BF (Parking brake: Initialization not performed).

As for the side parking sensors... there is no issue the supra uses the front and rear sensors to clear the side view, as such the areas appear and dissappear as the vehicle moves.

So if you know how to reinitialize your parking brake, that should solve the issue.

I tried previously to put the parking brake in service mode then reactivate but that didn't work.

Easy fix at the dealer, cost me $0 just my time.

I wonder if disengaging the parking brake prior to disconnecting/replacing the battery would prevent this issue from happening.

Any update on how they got rid of the light?

Maybe from happening again. But it doesn’t remove it

The dealer didn’t charge you for it? Yours still under warranty?

@Benjilis yeah still under warranty. 2024 purchased in NOV23, 6k miles on the odometer.

After they reinitialized the parking brake he said the light went away.

Okay thanks. I’ll try to see what I need to do that or call and ask how much
