Is it possible that this program is designed to completely disable CarPlay?
Is it possible to add this to the menu and create a mechanism where a daemon is launched when Android Auto is selected?

It does not touch Carplay in a way that will completely disable it.

And yes, that is currently how it is functioning, and how the final release will function. The daemon will live on the car, and selecting the Android Auto menu entry will spawn the daemon.

When you see CarPlay and Android Auto coexisting and appearing side-by-side in the menu, you'll know you've achieved the Supra 26MY all by yourself!

Modified the menu today, for better ease of use in updating/troubleshooting!

Open switches to Connecting & Connecting switches to Open Android Auto.

Super impressed with all the new infotainment tweaks that have been popping up. I wonder if it'd be possible to bring back the ability to have navigation run through both Google Maps/Waze while having the turn by turn (from the regular iDrive nav) by the speedo/HUD.

It's just a nice QOL for longer road trips.

It's on the to do list, need to investigate the ability to do this. I believe some people have implemented this in their variants, but it's far down my list.
Bluetooth connection stability first, Apple Carplay bugfixes second, compatibility with BMW third, features fourth.

Okay, still looking into Bluetooth being Bluetooth. It seems to work consistently after device re-pairing. I wish I could force it to work better (if that makes sense).

Todays adds -
Toggleable:
- Write log files out to USB (better for troubleshooting! this is a big one!)
- Menu button as an optional toggle to return to iDrive (community asked)
Credits:
- Updated w/ contributors
Features:
- Day/Night is polled from car
- Hold mic button to trip voice assistant on phone
- Mild exclusivity changes to prevent iDrive UI from tripping, some things may trigger an exit (e.g. spamming maps, will cause AA to unfocus and iDrive to refocus (i'm just gonna call this a feature and not a bug, haha. We can cross this bridge again when more people demand it)).
Patches:
- CarPlay fixes - needs testing, scripts provided by contributor, crossing fingers it works
- Identified a bug where the WiFi configuration files can update, causing an endless Bluetooth -> WiFi handshake, they're now sourced from the origin config file. If you notice this happening, please contact me and we can get yours updated ASAP!

how quickly you’re making progress

Since there’s probably a 14- to 18-hour time difference between us,
it seems difficult to ask you to open an SSH connection via network guidance.

So, I’d like to wait and cheer you on until the final version, including the SSH Open Kit, is released

I’m asking because I want to understand the risk accurately—specifically, whether this could happen even during normal text input.
