From what I read, OBD II is CANbus and will only allow devices to talk to the DME one device at a time. Apparently this OBD II splitter can allow multiple devices to access the ECU at the same time. Can anyone confirm if this will work?

I think it depends on the devices you connect more than the cable. Some OBDII devices want exclusive access, others not so much. I've got a similar cable but only have a single OBDII device connected and am mainly using it to protect the longevity of my car's OBDII port and just for convenience.

I'm actually curious to know if I can code my car via a dongle/Bimmercode on the second OBDII port whilst keeping my LED steering wheel connected. I suspect it will be fine because the steering wheel seems to only be powered up while the car's engine is off.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I am fairly certain that JB4s don't like splitters. Can't comment on steering wheels, though.
Damn it...yeah it would be nice to run Bimmercode or XHP while the JB4 is plugged in. Like what BMWAF said, I also want to preserve the factory OBD port.

Not a Corvette.
I wouldn’t worry too much about the port, unless you are ham fisted. I’ve plugged things/unplugged them hundreds of times. It is rugged by design.
