Maybe this thread may be able to assist me with another audio appearance issue.

I want to replace the sub grilles with something that pops a little more. The OEM grills pop right off with the pry tool, but unless I want to screw the new grilles into the sub enclosure cover, there are no existing holes. I'd prefer to use the existing holes / placement, so I am going to return. Considering spray painting the grill covers.

Anyone know of grill covers that use the existing setup? Thanks in advance!

I would recommend not changing the speakers with anything other than the OEM impedance, which is 2-ohm I believe. You will be altering the watts=volume that OEM+ can't tune remotely. Ask what speakers on their list they can tune remotely or wait for their speakers. Since their current equipment is all Audiotec Fischer my guess would be they use them for the speakers, most likely their "MATCH" brand considering they are using their DSP/AMP.

I'm "reheating" this thread.

I have a basic OEM audio: 2 front speakers and 2 subwoofers. I was thinking to replace them with dedicated Focal speakers + subs, Focal has a nice guiding www: https://www.focal-inside.com/bmw/en/bmw-z4-series-convertible-2018-g29/ of course as a reference I used BMW Z4 G29 speakers.

So fronts, could be replaced to P&P: IC BMW 100 v2
Subs to P&P: ISUB BMW 2

The only thing I'm not quite sure is the impedance. OEM front speakers in basic audio have impedance of 8 Ohm (not 4), I don't know the impedance of the subs, but Focal www states: "ISUB BMW 2 compatible with standard audio system" so it'd would mean subs are 2 Ohms. Would it be possible?

Can I replace front 8 Ohms to 4 Ohms (this is the standard for all Focal BMW P&P front speakers) and use them with 2 Ohms subs on OEM amplifier (I think there's no RAM on my car)?
