I was able to remove the eBay cqicqi ones without much issue. The black adhesive came off the gloss plastic just fine as well.

I tested up to 100 mph and had no issues with wind buffetting. I am quite pleased with it.

Looking to get a set myself. Has anyone bought these from ToyotaPartsDeal.com? It's hard what you can and can't trust these days, even with reviews.

It’s a legit site, but if you genuinely have concerns you can always use a credit card to pay and you’ll have protection regardless of outcome

I’ve placed an order at a local dealership in the GTA. Up here in Canada, Toyota is charging $13.15. The dealer said Toyota Canada is asking for the VIN prior to releasing them. I’ll update you if I’m able to get them.

Also, I’ve seen some pictures of them installed, but I’m not sure about the location. In this image, they appear to be installed further forward. Any thoughts?

I ran into the same conundrum but all the images I saw of the 2026 FE had it further back. That's the first time I've seen it installed so far up. I think that one was installed incorrectly... I could be wrong though.

I did play around with where to place it and having it halfway up would look really awkward.

Someone on reddit just posted their 2026 FE and its in the middle, like your photo. Now I'm double confused...

Who the hell is installing this crap? This YouTube video of a FE has it flush against the rear like mine :|

This is just a guess on my part, but if the goal of the buffeting kit is to detach airflow before the window opening, I wouldn’t think that +/- an inch or so would matter as long as the airflow is detached before the window opening. Maybe there’s some difference, but maybe just slightly measurable vs. being perceivable in practice. I’d probably just place the piece where it looks the most aesthetically pleasing within the typical area inboard of the mirror. It would probably serve its purpose either way. If you look at various applications where there’s fins or vanes built into the mirror for the same purpose, there’s quite a variation of placement.

Probably installed at the port by some random person.

So I've been lurking on this thread waiting for a solid answer as to where they actually go and my lack of patience got the best of me lol.

Installed mine the other day and this is where I ended up with them. I originally had the drivers side one lined up with that little seam on the mirror mount that you can see in the first pic. Everything seemed fine and dandy until I folded my mirrors in..... It was hitting... So I kinda just eyeballed it back a little and the mirror just misses it when folded now.

They work perfectly, no buffeting at all. I actually had the AMS ones before and they would cause a good amount of wind noise when my windows were rolled up and that seems to be completely gone with these OEM ones.

Nice detective work. Good shit. I guess these weren’t installed by some randos.

Yep, when I saw it was hitting I was like ahhh that's why they installed them in the middle.

Honestly they're made of pretty soft plastic and have some flex to them. It probably wouldn't have been a big deal with them touching but I know it would eventually cause small rub/wear marks.

Ah very interesting. Guess I didn’t notice since I rarely fold my mirrors in.

Luckily it is just soft plastic so I guess I’ll relocate it.

I called up my local Toyota dealership and asked them to put in an order for the OEM wind buffetting kit that comes on the 2026 model. I had no issues putting in the order with a 2024 model year VIN.

I received a call back confirming he found some but they were technically discontinued so whatever stock they have left, that's it. Not sure how true that is but considering they were $6/each and he found them available, I picked up a few extra sets.

I have a 2026 GR Premium and they are not on my car. It must only be on the Final Edition. I will check into ordering this from my local dealership in the Canadian prairies.

Could it be something only offered in the GT4 package?

You know, I didn't really think about it before, but I don't think I've ever seen something as ridiculous in the automotive industry as a manufacturer acknowledging an annoying issue their cars have and proceeding to charge for a special package to fix it when said fix is a couple of plastic pieces that cost probably $0.50 a pop for them to make.
