Oil filter HU 6022 Z doesnt fit

Hello everyone! I'm new on this thing so I apologize if it's come up but has anyone with a 2021 gr supra 3.0 come across with the HU 6022 Z(MANN FILTER) not fitting? I'm the second owner and I really hope the previous owner didn't just cut the one side off for it to fit. I checked to see maybe the end of the filter maybe broke inside but nothing.

This is the correct filter. Toyota even rebrands it as their own if you buy an "OEM" filter.

Top image is the filter the car came with. Such a smooth flat surface. No rips etc.

You can see that it is twisted though. If the filter isn't fully seated in the cap before you screw it in, it can crush the filter and do exactly what happened.
