Why does this sound like a ChatGPT that has been squeezed through a "I can't hurt anyones feelings" filter?
It's not, but I'll take that as a compliment. Hopefully, i answered your previous question clearly and respectfully.

Have had to deal with this directly with a friend, 1st batch and shipment was perfect, everyone was on site in china for the manufacturing. 2nd batch had a ton of issues and had to individually fix every single item to bring it to standards, costing more then producing it in the US.
Additionally, Even if its the exact same supplier, the US company can cherry pick the best balanced wheels, and send the defects back, which later end up on Alibaba. Ivanko (the weight lifting company) talked about "sliders" in a blog post:

I believe a contributing factor to underweight plates stems from pushing the foundry too hard on price. I have visited foundries in China that purposely make the patterns smaller — the weight lower — to meet some customers’ low price demands. The reduction is made in the cross section so it is undetectable without actually weighing the plate, which few buyers take the time and trouble to do. For buyers that do weigh plates, another tactic is to remove the overweight and underweight plates to meet the +/- 2% standard with the first order, which is the one most likely to be weighed. Then, they gradually slip the inaccurate plates (the “sliders”) into future shipments that are less likely to be weighed. A sure-fire way to guarantee accuracy is to own your own foundry, but as we learned, you can count on losing money for at least 10 years, and receiving a poor return on investment thereafter

Not entirely true. A lot of the direct from china products are molds stolen from the original producer that is having them made in China, then inspects and quality controls them to their standards and then sells them.

The direct is usually made at a different ship (but using the same mold) and doesn’t QC them at all, along with sub standard processing at the same time. They are usually not individually inspected either.

Have had to deal with this directly with a friend, 1st batch and shipment was perfect, everyone was on site in china for the manufacturing. 2nd batch had a ton of issues and had to individually fix every single item to bring it to standards, costing more then producing it in the US.

So don’t go saying it’s simply beast cutting out the middle man, when the n most products that require a VERY HIGH quality control, that is the middle man being skipped and sub par products make it to the wild.

anyways, done trying to help you out, as that’s what you asked for. Please post pictures of the install and let us know how long it lasts. Should be a fun post.
Fair point

One important nuance here: a company that is taking products into inventory has a different level of participation in the QC process than a drop-shipper (which is what most of the aftermarket industry really is). Few companies in the aftermarket industry have the capital to stock and maintain an inventory of dozens of items, let alone hundreds or thousands of them. Fewer still have the capacity to manufacture in-house.

A company holding inventory is much more likely to spot a QC issue before the product goes to the customer. A drop-shipper might QC the first batch or a sample but after that, they are trusting the factory to get it right and send out orders in a timely fashion. Since the drop-shipper has little visibility into manufacturing and isn't in control of when a product ships, that's often why our emails asking why a product hasn't been delivered or has endless, inexplicable delays often seem to go into a black hole.

Despite all that, the margins for drop-shipping are not great, and so companies want to avoid price competition. That's why you sometimes see companies not posting their prices publicly, instead saying you have to PM them for a price.

Again, this isn't to say everything on Alibaba is secretly a discounted, super high-quality version of something costing three times as much. But most companies in the industry are not sitting there with a micrometer checking every shipment either. They're working with the same factories that are selling the same product on Alibaba. Not saying it's bad or good--just the way the business works.

On balance, OP, with a component like this, I think I'd prefer you have some evidence of proven track record or at least someone state-side that I can yell at if something goes wrong. But I'm definitely NOT getting judgey like other folks here just because you're shopping on Alibaba.
