so I was driving down the freeway today and a huge rock flew up and hit my car, damaging the hood and side mirrors. I tried to get the dent out, but sadly its at a location where its 2 metal sheets, and I believe you're not suppose to use PDR on matte paint. the side mirror cracked through the wrap protection too. I was just wondering if you guys have any solutions on what I can do to somewhat fix this, or should I just leave it be.

Take it to a PDR shop and let them tell you what they can do for the hood. You can pull dents out over matte paint, like everything else, details matter. Let them tell you if they can or not.

That is one hell of a rock...

In theory, PDR should work fine on matte paint.

The difficulty is the lack of gloss and reflections makes it harder to do the work. The other possible complication is the damage is on the Supra's aluminium hood. Apparently aluminium is harder to deal with than steel for PDR. Might be the case of checking with a few operators and see what they say...

The trick for matte paint is to use clear tape.

I had a small dent on my hood. They had to replace it because it was aluminum.

So my car got a super small rock chip before my ppf installation. It only has 280 miles on it!! itā€™s super small and not very deep and honestly, unnoticeable unless itā€™s looked at super close with a flashlight. What would you guys do? Should I just ppf over it or do you think it should be touched up prior considering how small it is?

I would just cover over it. I would bet you will never notice it.

I did just that. Got the full nose covered in Xpel stealth and it looks phenomenal. Canā€™t even notice the difference. And the tiny rock chips are covered and arenā€™t even visible.

If you get the chance, can you take a picture of that same area with the chip in good lighting? Just curious what it looks like now

The ppf really covered most of it up! Itā€™s barely visible and essentially invisible in broad sunlight. I can only see it when I shine a flashlight on it at certain angles and look really closely.
