Unfortunately I found out that the supra that I will be receiving soon already had a non-optional port installed partial ppf placed (I think just the hood and door cups), according to my dealer. My plan had been to have the dealer leave the plastic and wrap alone so I could drive directly to my ppf installer of choice….

Will this be a problem for my ppf installer? Pretty easy to take off, and have them re-apply? Or in these cases is the Toyota ppf left on….?

Lastly, is this pre-installed toyota ppf decent stuff? TIA

They’ll take off the Toyota partial PPF and do a clean install. Otherwise you’d wind up with lines/seams or a raised area where they just covered over it.

Clear bra is a wear item and can be removed with a heat gun. I recently removed a 3M clearbra I installed on my Golf-R 6 years ago with no issue.

Partial clear bra sucks on dark colored cars as the edges turn into highlights when light hits it. I installed clear bra on my rockers this spring making my own custom templates being very careful to keep the edge under the visible high point of the car's line. No issue, it is literally invisible and no one would be able to tell unless I pointed out the line from less than 3ft away. My car is black.

I removed many kits over the years. The only issue ever experienced is... if the car has been repainted (mainly bumpers)... the paint may pull off with the film even when heat is applied. Never an issue with factory paint.

Mine had the hood PPF and door cups installed at the port and like you I did not want it, but didn't have a choice. My local PPF installer had no problem removing it with steam and a heat gun and applied an entirely new one piece sheet for the monstrous sized hood. Don't sweat it too much. Only thing that sucks is it's $4-500 out the window. Wish we had the opportunity to decline it, but couldn't.

Thanks- sounds like we have the same package. Out of curiosity, did the pre-installed Toyota PPF cover the entire hood, or only a portion of it?

Based on other responses it's partial coverage like a footlong or 2
