A part that almost nobody talks about is the rear wing.
In the FT-1 concept there is a retractable spoiler (on demand or according to speed/downforce needs).
The test mules show clearly the duck-tail styled rear boot that will probably house the retractable spoiler.

I'm not so sure we'll get the retractable spoiler given the price range it's suppose to be in

I think the angle of the rendering/spy shot also plays a role in making it look chubby. The 86 from the same point of view.

Some here have pointed out the lines on the prototype that appears to show a wing, but these lines could just be created by the camo panels. However I wouldn't rule anything out at this point.

Does that look right, or am i seeing things here?

I have been looking for evidence of the retractable spoiler on these test mules, this looks like one of the first times that it has caught my eye.
The porsche 718 has it and it starts at $65k CAD
Yup, and the RC-F and the 3/6 series Granturismo of all things lol.

A bit of history regarding retractable aero, the 911 (rear wing)and (JDM)Supra (front lip spoiler) had it back in 1993 so I would not be surprised.

I do feel CALTY aimed to achieve getting the best of both attributes of wing/wingless in the concept and would like to see the active aero carry over.

Since many mk4 owners and fans of the car felt very strongly about the wing/wingless/lip spoiler etc. question they actually did find a happy medium here. (Also less likely to hack up your active aero for some tuner wing but I'm sure there will still be a market)

As far as the headlights and tail lights if this is the end result I like them.

With as much aero research that was put into the new Camry and Camry Nascar version, I feel confident this one will be special, just hoping for an LFA style spoiler but the RC-F isn't bad.

There is 100% something super sneaky going on with that front bumper camo. That center intake hole is the the main design cue that deviates wildly from the FT1. I count 4 layers of camo on the side intake hole. Look for that to change radically.

Is it possible they can test the car like it is and still have the production versions nose come all the way down to the splitter like the concept?

Edit: Looks like the answer is yes
