What steering wheels and steering wheel adaptors do you all use?

talking about a momo or equivalent. I have no desire for square/goofy wheels with lights or anything

I will admit (because i am cheap) i have no real issues w oem wheel. just time w a gut car to continue on race car path....

My only complaint with my stock wheel is that my gloved hands don't easily fit between the wheel and the paddles. My grip is loose enough that I can keep my hands over the paddles, but still feels weird.

Is anyone else here on JRZ RS Pro 2-ways with true rears (non divorced)?

Trying to find a good baseline street setting that's liveable

I won't get to the track until Sept when it cools down so it's all I can do for now. Might as well make it as comfy as I can

Oct 14-15 available. I suppose thats doable. I spoke with my NASA rep. She informed me that the 2024 season should be posted in the coming months and if I have any issues using my free day to register for them, she'll reissue it. Sebring sounds fun but I heard it's way bumpy.

I use a NRG wheel (ST-024MB-R-BL), NRG short Hub adapter (SRK-f56h), NRG release adapter (SRK-257BL-BL), battleaero makes an adapter plate for the OEM buttons and shift paddles mount.

I went with this wheel for the extra leg room with the flat bottom

Definitely going to want track day insurance for peace of mind. Regular insurance will not cover you. In terms of consumables, you could go stock if you aren't sure whether you will want to keep up with it. I would recommend upgrading pads and brake fluid though, especially if sessions will be longer than 20 mins. Stock tires will survive your first track day no problem, though they will get greasy the longer your session is. Lots of options to upgrade to if you get hooked.

I'm planning my first track day with this car in September (this will only be my 3rd HPDE ever). Planning to go with it stock other than doing a brake fluid flush with higher temp fluid and see where I want to go from there. Sessions are 20 minutes long, do you think stock pads and tires will be ok with this use length?

Are there any true dual use brake pads for these cars that aren't noisier than stock?

I was told that I'd need special equipment (other than bimmer link) to tell the car to release the rear brakes for a pad swap. Do you track rats know if that's the case? If so that makes running separate track day pads more of a pain than it was in my last car. I ran carbotech xp1521 for street and xp10 for track previously and I honestly loved them. Both were great on rotor wear, not dusty, and the XP-10's felt like I was throwing out a boat anchor. ?

I don't actually have experience using stock pads on track, but I know others have done it. You won't have the same performance as a track pad, but you'll survive if you don't go nuts. Pretty much any decent track pad will make some noise when cold. I had the same pads you mentioned on my previous car for street and track and it's a good combo (haven't tried them on Supra though).

In terms of special equipment, the rear brakes require you to turn the piston to retract it. There are tools that make this easy, but you could also probably do it with a set of pliers or something. The fronts were much more of a pain the first time around for me. They are glued to the piston and if you haven't already put a lot of heat into them (e.g., on a track day), it is a pain in the ass to get them out the first time. I needed to jam a putty knife down there and use a crow bar to pry them loose. You will also need something to punch out the pins that hold the pads in place. @decodeddiesel means Project Mu Club Racers. I also 1000% agree with him. Best capable track pad for street use, by far. You won't sound like a dump truck on the street and they keep up with track use no problem. Half the price of the internet "golden child" pads as well.

If you're asking should you do HPDE 2 or 3, you should do 2 first, being new to the track and they'll quickly promote you up to 3. It's a really big track, insanely fun. Hope to see you there!!

SOrry, was a quick response. I was inquiring if you were in either of the two run groups.

I don't want to commit just yet. Have a special needs pet I'd need to make arrangements for and/or see where my fun money amount sits after these two next track days lol. I have family in tampa that'll house me, so no hotel needed thankfully.

I didn't have any problems swapping my rear pads with normal and tools out of my toolbox.
As mentioned above, the front pads are glued to the pistons so you will need something to knock them loose. I didn't have much problem getting them out, but it sounds like some people do, so be ready. ?
