There are 2 Blendmount options: One that hangs straight down from the mirror and one that has the c-clamp offset on the side. On the 2021 3.0 Premium, will the Blendmount that hangs straight down work? It's $40 cheaper....

Great thanks to all the tips and advice in here. I was able to quickly tap in for power to power my R7. Used wire taps from amazon, the set where it's 3 different sizes for $15.xx. I used the tap with the smallest tip.
Removed the cover around the mirror by separating the cover from the part below the mirror then work my way up. It came out easily.
There are two connectors. Small pink and larger black. I pulled the black connector by using a flat head to hold the base and a small pliers to pull the connecter itself. Eased it out.
I realized I really didn't need to pull it out. You could just push the taps into it. Tap red into the red and black into the brown/black slot.
I confirmed the radar detector does shut off about 6min after turning the car off.
I tapped into the far right (redish pink/blue) for power, and the far left (brown/black) for ground two hours ago, just went outside to check and the detector is still on? wtf lol

Is this with/or without doors locked? Was told at dealer that power to stuff like that does not completely shut off unless the car is locked. My radar does shot off when I lock the doors even if I don't turn it off by the switch....

I tapped into the reddish one and power was still on. I then switched to the black and it powers off when I turn off the car

I wanted to start a thread on RD and/or LJ installation how to, tips, tricks, etc. Let's keep out of the "which RD detector is better debate, this detector vs that detector, why don't you just drive the speed limit...lol  etc. This thread could include hardwiring, detector placement, wire routing, laser jammer head placement and stuff like that.
A link from RD Forum on Supra Laser Jammer installs.

Ahhh this is confusing me even more, I think someone posted that one and said that the stalk was too small and needed to be sized up lol. Guess I’ll take a chance, thanks!
hi I went ahead and purchased this one. The mount on the bottom meant for a escort redline. The top two pieces are the same.

Unfortunately, yes the space for the mount on the mirror stalk i not long enough. So… you have to modify it to make it work.
Advantages, the mount is thin on the stalk, so it allows for more movement of the rear view mirror as intended.

Hmmm? reading all these post about installing detectors, while I do understand the reasoning behind a clean install, in most states (USA) LEO’s
Don’t need a speed measuring device
Radar , lidar,or Vascar, to create a speeding ticket, (they use there Eyes!)
Which is allowed by most courts?

Oh yeah, so many different ways to measure your speed. The radar detector is an additional tool, but it doesn’t cover everything

In a lot of states, LEO needs to have a certification in order to measure speed by eyesight alone. Any officer can get you for wreckless driving just by watching you speed but you can shake that off in court with enough money.

VASCAR has always been deadly for those who utilize various countermeasures. Detection, jamming, crowdsourced traffic apps like highway radar are not by any means foolproof. These are tools to tip the odds in the users' favor. But I really don't see a ticket sticking in court issued by an officer saying he could tell by looking at me I was doing 15 over the limit.

Anecdotally, I was ticketed for a 100 ft boating violation years ago. In court the officer said he was trained in visualizing distance, I countered that through my job, I was also trained judging distances by sight and I was certainly more than 100 ft from the other boat. Probably depends on the judge but my case was dismissed.

Not in New York, unless it’s been recently changed, visualizing speed by LEO is “Court Approved “….I remember the conversation between judge and trooper, something above distance between telephone poles ??
……Guilty!?
