It looks like a obd2 pass through with aux power, some devices require extra power and I am assuming that’s what the wire is accomplishing.

Are you leasing? If so, check your financing paperwork. I'd expect there to be a clause in there about the device. I'd guess it's a GPS tracker (and potentially ignition immobilizer) installed by the dealer on behalf of the financing company.

Perhaps some sort of gps transit device that was never removed at the dealer as anticipated?

Or it was added after purchase without your knowledge? Is the wife keeping an eye on you? ?

I work at a dealership, and we install security systems onsome of our vehicles. This might be a form of that, if you didn’t purchase it, they deactivate it. I would ask them and find out what your salesman says.

I've heard something like that from someone I knew that works at a dealership. Anytime they would receive a batch of cars, she would remove a security tracker from the OBD port after unloading from the truck.

Maybe the dealership forgot to remove it? I've heard some dealerships have it, some don't. Did the dealership swap the supra from another dealer? Maybe they don't do the security tag thing, but the other one does?
