Stage 1 Tune or Catted downpipe

hey yall, finally got some spare money as a college student to spend on my car I'm not planning on doing anything crazy to my car except a downpipe and tune i chose MHD but asking if you guys think it would be better to get a AA catted down pipe (in a emission state) first or stage 1 tune first I have money for either or right now and just planning to buy the other one later down the line.

Downpipe first so you don’t need a retune. But are you going MHD custom tune or OTS? Custom tune will maximize the catted downpipe and give you the most out of it hence why you would need a retune if you got the downpipe after tuning

if you're wanting to make the car more fun, DP. even on stage 1, i don't think one can use all that torque on public streets.

for what it's worth, AA DP is 400 cell, so you won't really get any performance gains. maybe 10wtq on a tune. regardless, i vote AA DP

Then switch to OTS Stg2 when you can afford a DP.

That depends on what you are looking for. if you want more sound, get the downpipe

if your only concern is power, get the tune

Tune for sure - however because you are a 2021 you most likely have to do the Femto unlock which is even more money.

Don't spend money on the car while you are in college - drive it and keep the warranty and when you are out of school and have a job - reward yourself with some modifications to it.

If you want a louder car, you can buy BimmerCode software/app and an OBDII Dongle and have your exhaust valve stay open all the time.

Out of curiosity, where does the extra power from the DP come from? Engine load limits are the same, so throttle will only allow stock boost levels into the manifold.

yea WGDC will be lower for sure. I figured it was just gains from eliminating pumping losses.

i don't think im touching custom tune until a long time just basic ots is fine for me

+1 for MHD tune first.. Plus that should be pretty cheap compared to an exhaust if you do it yourself! (like I did)

For the early ECU you just need the bench unlocker module that they sell and obviously the MHD+ licence. Once you change the exhaust in the future you will be able to change from MHD stage 1 to 2 OTS maps at no extra cost.

Tune for power, but AA downpipe for sound. If you're okay with the current power, then get the downpipe, Supra needs more loud.
