All of DC is a cesspool of crime and violence. I won’t go within 20 miles of it.
Baghdad was not as bad as DC is right now.

You meant that you'd have to leave at 4am to get a decent spot. It was very busy by 6:30am.

How's the cost of living? Taxes, cost, etc. I currently live in FL, but an opportunity to move to VA (near DC) appeared. I've been here around a week and I've really enjoyed it, but I have yet to see the ugly side. What are things you like/dislike about the area?

Everything is expensive. The cops in Fairfax (and NoVA in general) are overall out to get anyone that goes over 1 MPH over the speed limit.

The food scene is great with a melting pot of choices (as all the embassies are in the area, there's bound to be food from other countries that you can find).

The car scene is great with meets almost every night and weekend.

It’s a cesspool of crime and violence. You’re better off in FL.

One of the most expensive areas in country
Dc is crime and cess pool

Let’s not forget that lovely personal property tax on the car. Depending on county this lovely non-depreciating Supra is almost $2000 a year.
